Place a separate leather-style cover over the console armrest to change its contact surface. It gives the frequently used lid a replaceable outer layer while retaining the original armrest underneath.
Align the cover with the lid contour before fastening it. Check that the hinge and release mechanism remain free and that the lid can open and close without pulling the edges out of position.
